Continuing tasks

Following the lecture and workshop, you should spend the next week evaluating existing materials. You could also look at creating some materials.

Remember that your role as a teacher is more likely to be supporting, challenging and assessing learning than creating amazing online materials from scratch. You can use existing materials (acknowledging your source, of course) but it is the way you put things together and the way you guide your learner through the materials that will define your input.

  • Working with a partner, search for one example of a webpage that you could use for information in a task, and one example of a place/idea for creating materials. Try out your selection (i.e. don't just look at it in a "theoretical" way - you must actually pretend to be a student and work through what you would intend to do).
  • Post your site URL, and your task ideas, to this wiki; you would be best to create a new page for your ideas and link it to the home page
  • Consider the issues of evaluation for your chosen materials; add this to your wiki
  • Review the ideas from others in the class; add your comments to their wiki page
